Traditionally there are a number of Speeches herd at any Wedding. In the past these Speeches would have commenced with the Father of the Bride, who passed the microphone on to the Groom and after the Groom is finished he would pass it on the Best Man.

In current times the Order of Wedding Reception Speeches can be confusing. Many of us attend receptions, but if asked who speaks first, second and third, we would probably not be able to recall. Below is a list of current Wedding Speech Order. This list has been modified to include the important ladies including the Bride, Mother of the Bride and Maid of Honor.

Ladies – Stand Up and Be Heard

The women involved in the Wedding who wish to express their thoughts and gratitude are now encouraged to do so. They now have the opportunity to thank the members of the Wedding Party and the guests during the presentation of a formal speech. This is now considered perfectly acceptable practice and is a growing trend. The times have turned and as society continues to develop and evolve and as rights become more equal, those who wish to be herd can confidently make a Wedding Speech.

Wedding Reception Speech Order:-

 

  • Father of the Bride
  • Mother of the Bride
  • Groom
  • Bride
  • Best Man
  • Maid of Honor

 

This Wedding Reception Speech order is a guide and can be adjusted to suit your needs. However, this would be considered the ‘normal’ expected order.
